My Brother Marvin Reveals Marvin Gaye Through His Sister's Eyes
- Full Price:
- $49.50 - $58.50
- Our Price:
- $34.50 - $43.50
The Pantages Theatre presents My Brother Marvin, a play based on the first-hand accounts of Marvin Gaye's family members. It is the most candid story of life with this musical icon that has ever been told, portraying Gaye's internal battles, greatest fears and juiciest family secrets. This is not a juke box musical -- this play highlights not the music, but the mind of Marvin Gaye, revealing secrets from his mother's innermost thoughts that have never been voiced before. Mrs. Gaye's hidden journals were recently discovered, containing candid discussion about her husband, her family and of course her superstar son. My Brother Marvin stars Emmy-winning actress Lynn Whitfield (The Josephine Baker Story), Image Award-winning actor Clifton Powell (Ray), R&B sensation Keith Washington ("Kissing You") and popular leading man Tony Grant (Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married, Love Ain't Supposed To Hurt and The Marriage Counselor). My Brother Marvin is a riveting ride through the life and times of one of the most intriguing and mysterious musical legends the world has ever known. Learn More

Written on Aug 11 2012Really enjoyed it - but Jersey Boys (with which it shares many key features) had more energy and affected us more deeply. All good performers, but "Jerry Lee" was absolutely the best - just amazing. Learned some pretty interesting stuff along the way, too - which is always nice. You could really take almost anyone to this show and they would enjoy some aspect of it. Surprise a teenager!
Written on Jul 21 2012It's all about the music but the story and the musical performances felt flat at times.
Written on Jul 17 2012Loved the play, loved the cast, loved the songs, the humor, everything. Very excited I chose to go!
Written on Jul 15 2012Nostalgic and insanely impressive voices, this show brought me back to when I was a little girl and my mom would turn up the stereo to her favorite singers. Although I enjoyed the experience for the memories and performance, I felt the show to be quite slow, making it difficult to stay interested. The finally was a highlight as it was more upbeat and audience participation was encouraged.
