It was a great way to spend Mother's Day - esp since my grown children live out of state. The music was terrific; the comedian funny and the audience was a blast.
Please inform us of other events like this.

A fun time was had by all! If you love Jazz, R&B or Blues, you missed a GREAT concert. They had the people dancing in their seats & in the isles. From the Cha Cha to the Electric Slide & laughing until your sides ached. If you've never been to the "Mother's Day" festivities at the Ford Theatre before, I suggest that you make it a must next year. Whether your young or old, black or white, it's the place you want to be for "Mother's Day".

This was not my first "Mother's Day Blues & Jazz Extravaganza" at the Ford, but every time I've been it's gotten better & better. Especially this year because I knew personally quite a few of the acts that performed at the concert. Truly though the one person I go to see is my good friend Ms. Barbara Morrison (aka Queen). She rocked the house (or should I say the Ford) for Mother's Day. If you were not there, then you missed a swinging Mother's Day Party, because that is what it was. People dancing in their seats & in all the isles. You where allowed the bring your own food & drink, plus they handed out long stem American Beauty roses for all the Mother's in the house. If you didn't make it this year, I do suggest that you go next year. You most definitely will not be disappointed at all.

The show was much longer than I had expected: from 3-8PM. Perhaps I didn't read the event description well enough. Parking at the Anson Ford theater is stadium style, so once there, we were stuck until the very end. Food at the event was limited--snacks, really-- and very expensive. The music was good, but very loud. The ambience of the event was lovely, however: mothers were given long stem roses and all the adults were given Bailey's upon arrival and the event was for a good cause.

Barbara Morrison was late. Last year their were too many sets and she had to come on late much to her chagrin.

Extemely long...............I bought tickets to see Barbara Morrison at 3:00 p.m. not 8:30 p.m. What a sham!!!!!! Almost everyone had gone home. We left shortly after she started singing. Who could sit there for 5 hours.

I like it but Barbara was late and only sang 5 songs. I will not do it next year. My son really wanted to see Barbara and he got very tired and dissapointed for the late of her performance.

From the moment I made it up the altitude challenging stairs I knew I would be having a wonderful time. Just as long I didn't have to go back to my car. The music was great, the crowd was on their feet so..yeah. I had a wonderful time

Everyone in my party of 10 enjoyed the show, especially mama! We had gone to brunch earlier and she was complaining of back, shoulder and neck pain. But as soon as the first band came on, she was out of her seat dancing. And everybody was cheering her on with "go mama, go mama, go!" I wonder where her pain went... that's the beauty of "Music Therapy"! I do have one question... where was the Bailey's Irish Creme this year?

I did think this was a great event, but it wasn't what I expected...I was expecting a kind of elegant, jazzy, mellow, with some comedic interludes type experience for Mother's Day. What is was, was a PAA - TY! It should be called, a Funk/Hip Hop Mother's Day extravaganza! Lots of drinking and dancing in the aisles - no prob, just wasn't prepared. Would I go next year? - I might if I was in a "cut loose" frame of mind. I think it was very much enjoyed by all present, the music was very good, the comedian very funny. So my rating reflects my personal mood and taste, not really a critcism of the show itself. The venue was superb (the roses were a very nice touch), the free shuttle from the Universal Metro Station was convenient and prompt.

I loved the show and each performance. I have been attending the Mother's Day Show for the last four years and always enjoy it.
Although Barbara Morrison was very late, her performance, songs, language, musicians, etc. were much improved over the past.

The event was nice. Nice crowd -- every seat in the house at the Ford is a perfect seat. One big Mother's Day party. One thing I didn't like was Barbara Morrison performing last. I know she's the headliner but by the time she came on stage many people had already left. They missed a great performer. The lady "Muffie" stayed on stage too long as wasn't that good of a performer. Otherwise it was great -- I grooved.
