Each night they were thrilled and chilled as the events unfolded right in their living room. Now the 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company presents the making of an actual 1950's radio serial, as told through the eyes of a teenage listener.

The Ahmanson presents Dreamgirls, the hit musical that inspired the Oscar-winning movie. It's the timeless story of an up-and-coming girl singing group in the 1960s, and the personal and professional struggles they encounter on the road to fame. The show was excellent, in spite of a very small audience. Very funky area, the theatre looks terrible from the outside (made my 12 year old son very nervous....) but was just fine inside.
I'm sorry there wasn't a bigger audience to appreciate the wonderful actors and well done re-creation of the radio shows of the 40s and 50s.
Lots of fun, very satisfying.
Bring your own water, there is no drinking fountain in the theatre.
