Write Act Repertory Theatre presents the West Coast premiere of Oswald. As Friday, November 22, 1963 draws to a close, President John F. Kennedy and police officer J.D. Tippit both lie dead in Dallas, the victims of a shooter. Amidst the chaos that ensues, an evasive 24-year-old man named Lee Harvey Oswald is arrested and becomes the number-one suspect. It is the job of Captain William Fritz to extract a confession. As evidence mounts, defiance is Oswald's only defense. Based on the bristling and explosive actual interrogation of Lee Harvey Oswald by the Dallas Chief of Homicide, Oswald depicts one of the most engrossing battles ever brought to the stage. Forty-eight hours and seven minutes after the president of the United States was shot and killed, another shot rings out in Dallas -- hitting Lee Harvey Oswald and ending the nation's chance to learn the truth. Richmond Shepard directs.

what a delightful surprise to attend such a small theatre with such a big impact! Of course, the subject matter lent itself well to the drama. The actor portraying Oswald was excellent as were the other actors. the audience, albeit small, gave a standing ovation. I would encourage anyone who is at all interested in history, the JFK assassination, etc to attend this wonderful reenactment of Oswald's interrogation. thought provoking....

The play narrates what happened during the two days Lee Harvey Oswald was being interrogated by the Dallas police and the FBI. The playwright is on hand to explain how he did his research on the play. It is an absolutely fascinating look at the Kennedy assassination from an angle that had not been publicly explored before. The play certainly deserves a wider audience. G.H.

About the Ticket Supplier: Write Act Repertory Theatre

The Write Act Repertory Company produces plays that explore the potential boundaries of theatre. Whether combining the abstract with the realistic or the intellectual with the visceral, Write Act provides both depth of message and quality entertainment. Currently, the Write Act Repertory Company's resident professional playwrights create original scripts developed exclusively for the resident professional actors, directors, designers, and artists-in-residence. Along with our repertory season, Write Act enriches the lives of the multi-cultural community of Los Angeles through our outreach programs with several other non-profit organizations, creating a positive educational and artistic impact within the community.

Write Act Repertory Company's "First Look Series" showcases new works by up-and-coming international writers. These "works in progress" are being nurtured by Write Act Repertory's mission to develop and produce original plays with a collaborative ensemble of professionals dedicated to the craft of developing innovative theatrical productions for the Los Angeles community. The "First Look" process involves the submission of a recommended writer's work, a reading and then a fully-staged production of the "work in progress." Following the staged first production, a Q & A session with the audience, provides the writer with the opportunity to integrate suggestions and feedback into the next draft of the work. The writer, next presents the revised draft of their script for the second step of the process. Once again, the work is performed in front of an audience, and feedback is solicited
