Funny Girl was great, but I attend this Outfest sing-along event annually. The crowd is what makes it one of the most fun events of the year!

The movie, "DARE", was really good. Sitting under the stars at the Ford Amphitheatre while watching the movie was awesome.
Having the after party at another venue which involved getting back into the car, driving and parking? Well, that was stupid.

Attended Outfest showing of "The Baby Formula" and had a great time. Its a small venue so any seat is a good seat. The sound quality and movie quality was great. The perks to watching anything at the Ford is that you can bring in your own food and beverage/ alcohol.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a good story told well, and the performances were superb. I so hope it's gets US distribution so that my friends can see it!

Loved it! Somehow I'd missed ever seeing "Funny Girl." What better way to see it than with 1,200 other ecstatic Barb devotees?

A perfect night at the Ford theatre.....one of those Why I Love LA lind of experiences......Funny Girl on the big screen outdoors under the stars. The crowd was great......beach balls being tossed around before the show. Incredible fun hearing everyone singing People and Don't Rain On My Parade with someone running up and down the aisles with a bouquet of flowers during the second number. Great energy, great movie, great time. Thanks Outfest and The Ford.

I knew this was going to be a special night because "Funny Girl" is one of my favorite movies and I love sing-a-longs but I had no idea how much fun everyone was going to have. The audience participation was awesome - it seems everyone knew the songs and some even knew the dialoge (guilty). The sound of everyone singing along with Barbra is something I'll never forget.
Especially "People" and "Don't Rain on my Parade".
I'm ready to do it again.

I had a wonderful time at the Funny Girl Sing-Along! My husband and I arrived an hour early and had no trouble parking, and picking up our tickets.
Everyone was in a great mood and excited for the show.
It was so nice being outside under the stars. Lot of people brought food, and delious smells wafted through the air.
It was so amazing to see Funny Girl on the big screen after so many years. And the craziest thing was my husband had never seen it!!! Everyone clapped yelled and hooted after each song. The guy sitting next to my husband knew every single word of dialouge!
Everyone sang the songs, and had a blast! It was also easy to get back to our car and drive home. A wonderful evening was had by all!!

The event was Amazing. Arriving early to have a picnic with friends, and running into other friends made the night fun. However, the best part of the night was listening to everyone in the audience participate during the songs, and most of all - having the audience member(s) reenact part of the movie up and down the isles.

Closing Night Gala:
Dare
Directed By: Adam Salky (USA, 2009, 90 mins)
Based on their award-winning short film, writer David Brind and director Adam Salky return to Outfest with Dare, a stunning debut feature that poetically captures the confusion, longing, thrill and lust of teenage life.
The film opens with Alexa (Emmy Rossum), a beautiful, studious, aspiring thespian whose dreams are shattered when acclaimed actor Grant Matson (Alan Cumming) tells her that she has brains but no edge. This devastating blow motivates Alexa to shed her good-girl image. She ditches her best friend Ben (Ashley Springer) - a closeted, melancholy outsider - slips into a hot miniskirt and seduces the gorgeous and popular, but troubled, Johnny Drake (Zach Gilford). No sooner do they become an item than Ben decides he wants a piece of the action and kisses Johnny. Johnny is confused, Ben is ecstatic and Alexa is furious, but in typical teen style, they work it out... and in the process, they discover what it means to become an adult. Stellar performances from the three young leads are bolstered by the comic genius of Ana Gasteyer, Alan Cumming and Sandra Bernhard.
This closing night event will include an after-party (details TBD).
Other Programs:
International Dramatic Feature
The Baby Formula
Directed By: Alison Reid (Canada, 2008, 81 mins)
World Premiere
Athena and Lilith want to have a baby...and they're looking to do it without a man! The ladies employ an experimental procedure that turns stem cells into sperm, allowing them to have a biological child. But when their relatives and a documentary crew find out, the couple's domestic bliss is put to the test. Pregnant with humor and warmth, The Baby Formula is a fresh take on what makes a family.
Special Events
Funny Girl: The Sing-Along
Directed By: William Wyler (USA, 1968, 151 mins)
All hail Babs! Loosen up those vocal chords - it's time to sing along with Funny Girl. As 1930s comedienne Fanny Brice, the lovely Ms. Streisand is at the height of her powers: laughing, crying, roller-skating and belting out showstoppers like nobody's business. William Wyler directs, Omar Sharif charms, Walter Pidgeon smarms, but this one is all about Barbra baby!
International Dramatic Feature
Patrik, Age 1.5
Directed By: Ella Lemhagen (Sweden, 2008, 103 mins)
In Swedish with English subtitles
Gay newlyweds Sven and Goran have it all: great jobs, a new home in the suburbs and the perfect plan to start their own family. The only thing they don't have is an answer to the bureaucratic mix-up that leaves them with a delinquent teenager instead of a newborn. Featuring lush cinematography and a smorgasbord of slick Swedish design, Patrik, Age 1.5 explores the challenges facing same-sex parents with style and humor.
