I saw the documentary about the musical group Le Tigre. It was very good. The venue felt perfect, as it was nice to be outdoors after such a hot day.

OMG!!! Who knew so many people LOVED this small little movie from 1982 as much as me??? I brought two of my friends that had never seen the flick, and we sat right in front of a row of CRAZED FANS that knew the entire dialogue and all the songs by heart!!! We all sang along and laughed and had the greatest time of this summer so far!!! Thanks OUTFEST!!!!

We mainly went because we love the atmosphere and experience of the Ford and to support OUTFEST; however, the film was a huge disappointment. Songs and choreography were lame, definitely not suitable for a sing-a-long (un-singable), and the story was pitiful and not the least bit interesting. Amazing that the film was so bad considering the success of the original version. Can't blame OUTFEST for film selection because it was based on on-line voting of members/non-members. Possibly some voters thought they were voting for Grease? The one highlight was sexy Michael Carrington, but even he couldn't come close to salvaging this disaster. Still love the Ford and support OUTFEST!

The venue is awesome, the crowd was fun, the movie was (bar none) the worst I've ever seen. I know that this is supposed to have a "cult following" but it must be a very SMALL cult...not a redeeming thing about it. The music wasn't singable, the plot was completely void of interest...and if all of this is the point and I'm just missing it, well...it would have been best to just miss this event entirely. Wonder what the organizers were thinking...last year we saw "Funny Girl" and it was amazing.

More Information About Outfest 2010 at the Ford Amphitheatre

Description

July 14, 2010 at 8:30pm: Grease 2

Foxy leader of the Pink Ladies, Stephanie (Michelle Pfeiffer) is tired of her T-Bird b.f. (Adrian Zmed). Little does she know that British exchange student Michael (Maxwell Caulfield) might be just the "Cool Rider" she wants. Racier than the original and with a cult following of its own, Grease 2 is laced with charming ditties like "Reproduction," "Girl For All Seasons" and "Do It For Our Country."

July 15, 2010 at 8:30pm:
Le Tigre: On Tour

Girl band Le Tigre is best known for their sociopolitical lyrics, electronic beats and choreographed dance moves. Shot over the course of the band's final world tour, Le Tigre: On Tour follows Kathleen, Johanna and JD's 10-year herstory of celebrating the legacy of feminism. This candidly shot documentary is full of intimate interviews, backstage pranks, impromptu dance sessions and exciting concert footage that will make you want to get up and scream, "Finally free!"

July 17, 2010 at 8:30pm: The Four-Faced Liar

Best pals and roommates Bridget and Trip are typical college students - they smoke, drink, cruise girls and spend too much time at their local bar, the Four-Faced Liar. Trip has a fidelity problem with his longtime girlfriend, and Bridget's eye for the ladies turns to the new straight girl in the neighborhood, Molly, who wishes her boyfriend was a little more adventurous. In this dramatic comedy, the young and beautiful learn a thing or two about friendship, sex and love - in no particular order.

July 18, 2010 at 8:00pm: Spork (Closing Night Gala)

High school's awful enough already, but it's even more of a challenge when you're a four-eyed self-described hermaphrodite with a gigantic mop of untamed frizzy hair. And so, like the utensil for which she's named, Spork (Savannah Stehlin) doesn't fit comfortably into any of the available compartments.

Her best friend Tootsie Roll (Sydney Park) is the baddest dancer for miles around, but when she injures herself (hair product + gym floor = accident waiting to happen), it's up to Spork to brush up on her vintage hip-hop moves and save the day, even if the evil Betsy Byotch (Rachel G. Fox) and her cadre of high-school harpies have other plans.

A wonderfully whacked-out debut for actor-turned-writer-director J.B. Ghuman, Jr., Spork boasts fresh and funny performances - the ferociously talented youngsters are bolstered by vets like Elaine Hendrix and Beth Grant - a one-of-a-kind visual style and a story that brings humor and hope to outsiders everywhere.

Tickets include admission to the after-party at madame Tussauds in Hollywood.
