The parking closest to the venue is a jaw-dropping $20. You can park across the street (near the Chinese Theater) for half the price.

I enjoyed the musician at the beginning of the show. He was age-appropriate and relevant with his bunny for Easter. I enjoyed the film too. The staff at El Capitan were very courteous.

Description

See Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful in 3D at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood!

Before the movie be dazzled by the artistry of illusion in a magical showcase -_ Disney Mysteries of Magic_ – live on the El Capitan Stage! See our expert wizard Greg Wilson perform mystical magical illusions before your very eyes!

Plus, see a display of costumes from the movie!

Disney’s fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot— fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

Hear the movie in Dolby® AtmosTM, a completely new platform for cinema sound, that allows sounds to move around the theatre, even overhead, to create a natural and lifelike audio experience that perfectly matches the story and produces the most realistic effects you’ve ever heard.
