Legendary author Ray Bradbury introduces the American Cinematheque's screening of the film Something Wicked This Way Comes, for which Bradbury wrote the screenplay, based on his novel. A strange carnival comes to a small town on a windy night, bringing with it Mr. Dark, a sinister impresario who will bewitch many of the town's inhabitants with apparent answers to their dreams.

It was great to see this movie at a historic movie palace. Especially nice to hear from Ray Bradbury.
Ray Bradbury was there to introduce it and to tell a great story about the history of the film. I love this movie anyway-- so many great lines by the dad, and such a good father-son movie, that getting to hear the background was the icing on the cake.
What a special evening ... the Author/Screen writer was there and was inspiring to hear. And one of the actors was there as well. The Audience was respectful and such a pleasure to be a part of in a movie theater experience. I will do this again!
Author Ray Bradbury spoke before the film, we all learned the familiar story of studio politics. Disney lent the archive print of the film to the Cinematheque, excellent score by James Horner. Pretty dark for a kids movie, i don't think it would get made today. The Egyptian is my favorite old movie theatre in Los Angeles, i highly recommend it!
A strange carnival comes to a small Illinois town on a windy October night, bringing with it Mr. Dark (Jonathan Pryce), a sinister impresario who will mystify young boys Will and Jim (Vidal Peterson and Shawn Carson) and bewitch many of the town’s inhabitants with apparent answers to their dreams. Or is it their nightmares? Jason Robards, the older single dad of Will and a reclusive librarian who has given up on life, suddenly finds himself challenged by the mysteriously seductive threat – he may be the one person who can save the town from Mr. Dark – and itself.
