Set during the time that Lee Harvey Oswald was held in the custody of the Dallas police, this new play takes a sideways look at a major turning point in American history. Christian Levatino's docudrama takes place in an office within police headquarters where homicide Captain William J. Fritz is given the task of interrogating Oswald. With the nation waiting for answers, the two discuss Van Heflin, Russia, Coca-Cola, Jim Brown, the AFL, backyard photographs and that Friday afternoon in Dealy Plaza. The play won Best of Fringe Extensions at the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival, as well as receiving a nomination for the Playwriting O Face Award. Learn More

This was an "interesting" evening comprised of talented actors/actresses who were able to create music, choreography and script spontaneously. The performance stimulated an interest in returning to the theatre for another performance just to see if any of the action was formulatic. On this particular night the actors created a story that I would not have elected to see had I been given a pre show story line. Thus, I didn't like the show. Since I have done improv in various settings as both an actor and an instructor of others, I saw some simplistic pitfalls that much improvisation falls victim to, however, in a larger sense, to the average theatre goer, what these actors/actresses accomplished in two hours was amazing.
Embracing the spirit of one of the most heralded artists in American theater, the actors and master improvisers of Impro Theatre will create full-length, completely improvised musicals in the style of Stephen Sondheim in Sondheim UnScripted.
Using just their guts, improvisational wits and audience suggestions, the cast invents a brand new, never-before-seen (and never will be seen again) musical for each performance. The only constant is the thrill, joy and humor that are brought together to bring character, plot and songs to life — all to pay tribute to Sondheim by an expert team of funny and gifted actors whose explorations of great literary figures include Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Jane Austen and Dickens.
Directed by Dan O’Connor and Michele Spears, Sondheim UnScripted features Lisa Fredrickson, Brian Jones, Stephen Kearin, Brian Lohmann, Jo McGinley, Dan O’Connor, Edi Patterson, Paul Rogan, Michele Spears and Floyd Van Buskirk
Musical directors are James Lent, Ron Schneider and Peter Smith. Nick Massouh, Jim Sabo and Reuben Vernier are lighting improvisers.
