Everything would have been fine if I had been more aware of the protocols for the evening. Since I had no clue and was walking across the graveyard, I was subjected to pretty abusive behavior by one of the local security guys, which almost...continued

I love "Moulin Rouge", so I'm a little biased, but I enjoyed myself. I will say though that I thought the Gay Men's Chorus was going to sing-along with the movie, but they didn't, so that was a little disappointing.

About the Ticket Supplier: Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles

Hailed by the LA Times as “one of the last important links to a glorious tradition in music,” Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles has been a notable part of Southern California for almost thirty-five years. Formed in 1979 as a completely volunteer effort of 99 men, GMCLA has doubled in size, gained professional artistic and administrative staff, toured internationally, released fifteen compact discs, and appeared with numerous stage, film, and television celebrities like Lily Tomlin, Melissa Manchester, Jerry Herman, Valarie Pettiford and LeAnn Rimes.

Among the many “firsts” of this dynamic arts organization, GMCLA was the first gay ensemble to perform for a sitting U.S. President (both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama); the first openly gay performers to be broadcast over Russian television in 1999; the first gay chorus to tour central Europe (1991) and South America (2006), created the original musical “It Gets Better”to combat anti-LGBT bullying (currently on a U.S. tour), and recently performed at the Academy Awards.

In addition to their vocal excellence, GMCLA wows audiences with their uniquely theatrical and inventive productions, performing three major concerts each season. They bring their music education program, Alive Music Project, to high school students across Los Angeles to build bridges between all communities by sharing music and their personal stories. GMCLA sings for a future free from homophobia and discrimination of all kinds.
