Goldstar Member Tips

  • on What to Wear
A little bit of everything. Dress as you want but keep in imnd you're going to the theater afterall.
  • on What to Wear
I enjoy dressing for the theater, but dressy/cas is what most people were wearing
  • on What to Wear
This show is more "rock" than traditional Broadway, so dressy casual is fine

I fell in love with this show all over again! Honestly though, this is a show that should be performed in a smaller venue due to its intimate nature so it's actually best to sit as close to the stage as possible or if you're lucky enough, even on stage! It just baffles me that it's playing at Pantages for less than a week! Given that, I suggest to you all to take advantage of this well written piece! The fresh music by Mr. Sheik even though set in the late 19th century, the voices, the intriguing choreo (subtle yet still profound), the issues that almost all teenagers can relate to, and simple stage sets and lighting effects will draw you all in. Moritz has always been my favorite character because of his awkward demeanor, powerful voice, and that hair! Everyone was able to deliver on opening night despite some minor flaws but I didn't mind it at all. Nonetheless, the energy in the house was infectious.

Spring Awakening is a true delight and a coming of age story you must experience.. once again.

I found the show confusing and over acted. The songs had TONS of energy but you couldn't understand the lyrics and the story itself became predictable even in it's confusing nature. When I was a teenager RENT was the show of shows. Maybe now in my 30's I just don't have that same connection to a teenage heartbreak show or this one just didn't hit the mark for me. I'm going with option #2.
