The Amazing Los Angeles Race is designed to feel like a hybrid of a sightseeing tour, The Da Vinci Code and The Amazing Race. Participants form teams of two to eight people and receive their first clue at the starting line. Each solution leads to the next clue and fun experiences at top L.A. attractions, including Mann's Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl, and Walt Disney Concert Hall, culminating in a finish-line awards ceremony.

The Amazing LA Race was so much fun.
You get to run around Hollywood and Downtown on foot and via the Metro searching for clues and solving puzzles. The event is very well organized and the organizers were very nice.
Be sure to wear a pair of sneakers. We did a lot of running trying to stay ahead of the other teams.
What a fun way to discover key areas of Hollywood. We made this a birthday event for our 14-yr old daughter. We had fun and enjoyed the challenging clues to take us to the next place. The event is very organized and the organizers are there to help you just enough to make sure you are enjoying the adventure. It would have been more challenging if our kids hadn't already known some of the areas. Great exercise of the mind and body. Good team building too. You absolutely need to work together. What an unexpected surprise at the reception at the end, even though we were last! Thank you Bob and team for making it a memorable and creative event.
Excellent way to spend a mildly warm and sunny day with good friends! This is a different way to spend time with a group of friends or co-workers for fun and get lots of exercise; highly recommended.
Difficulty level is right for out-of-towners and native Angelenos who just don't know and/or haven't experienced Downtown Los Angeles (the main attractions, anyway)
If you go, ignore the 3 1/2 hour estimated length - this will take you at least 5 hours, but it will be worth it :) We had to cut ours short because we planned to meet friends for lunch in W. Hollywood at 3 (according to the site, we expected to be done by 2:30); we were 1 1/2 hrs. late for lunch :(
On the other hand, there's plenty of yummy food at one of the locations Downtown - bring cash for food (and liquor!)

It’s a sightseeing tour… It’s a game… It’s a scavenger hunt. It’s an immersive experience. It’s, well, it’s all of the above – and more! It is the Amazing Los Angeles Race, a brand new concept in sightseeing, and an utterly unique entry into the things-one-must-do while in Los Angeles.
The Amazing Los Angeles Race feels like a unique hybrid of a sightseeing tour, “The DaVinci Code,” and “The Amazing Race.” Participants form teams of two to eight people. All teams meet at the starting line, where they receive their first clue. The solution of the clue leads to a new location and a new clue, then to the next and so on. The team that solves all the clues and crosses the finish line in the least amount of time is crowned the winner.
Along the way, players experience some of the most popular sights in Los Angeles, including Mann’s Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Players will also see some hidden gems. But unlike the passive guests on other tours, Amazing LA Race participants will have to interact with the sights, not just see them.
“It’s a very active experience,” says Larry Toffler, the tour’s other creator. “You can’t just sit and watch. You actually need to interact with your surroundings in order to get from one sight to another. And by surroundings, we don’t just mean places. We mean people too. There are lots of facets to this city of ours, and the Amazing LA Race offers the full range.”
While Bob and Larry designed the game for tourists, it is also great for locals who want to (or have to) enjoy a ‘staycation.’ “We’ve had LA natives play the game, people who have lived here their entire lives,” says Toffler, “and they’ve said, ‘I saw things today, that I have never seen before. Others have said, ‘it’s the most fun I’ve had in LA.’”
The game/tour ends with a finish-line awards ceremony, where prizes are given to top finishers, and all players receive complimentary beverages and snacks.
