There isn't much more I can add to these reviews that hasn't already been said. I purchased 4 tickets to this event for my: self, husband, mother and father as a 60th birthday present for my mom. She is a huge fan of The Amazing Race reality show, so I thought this would be a perfectly different thing to do for this occasion. WOW, I was spot on!!! She had no clue where we were going or what we were doing until the orientation began at Hollywood Bowl. We had the time of our lives playing this game and couldn't stop talking about it all the way home. The frustrating part is not being able to tell people about the experience for fear of ruining the game for future players. I highly recommend this event for anyone looking to have a fantastic day in LA and Hollywood. Although this is redundant...here's a list of good tips:Written on Feb 22 2010
Bring a small backpack with: light snacks, water, clipboard, extra pens (we lost our grease pencil within the first 30 minutes), cell phone, camera, hat and money.
Park at The Hollywood and Highland parking garage immediately after finding your first clue.
Read directions carefully and pay attention to details!!
Have a great attitude and get into the spirit with your competitors.
Thanks Bob for being such a fun host! We'll definitely be back for the Santa Monica race.

This was lots of fun. The puzzles solved along the way are challenging, but possible. This was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!Written on Dec 21 2009

LOTS of fun. It's challenging, but only as challenging as you want it to be. You could take it slow or you could really hustle and try to win. Either way, if you're up for a little adventure, this is a good time.Written on Mar 15 2010

Smart, brilliant and amazing! It was also a great work out. A group of 4 is ideal. I saw LA in a new light and was taken through some hidden gems through this adventure.Written on Feb 16 2011
Workout attire, (sunblock, sun glasses, hat if a sunny day). Begins at the park across the Hollywood Bowl. Parking is comped. Bring your enthusiasm, your excitement and your thinking hats and enjoy!!!

Description
It’s a sightseeing tour… It’s a game… It’s a scavenger hunt. It’s an immersive experience. It’s, well, all of the above – and more! It is the Amazing Los Angeles Race, a brand new concept in sightseeing, and an utterly unique entry into the things-one-must-do while in Los Angeles.
The Amazing Los Angeles Race feels like a unique hybrid of a sightseeing tour, The DaVinci Code, and The Amazing Race. Participants form teams of two to eight people. All teams meet at the starting line, where they receive their first clue. The solution of the clue leads to a new location and a new clue, then to the next and so on. The team that solves all the clues and crosses the finish line in the least amount of time is crowned the winner.
Along the way, players experience some of the most popular sights in Los Angeles, including Mann’s Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Players will also see some hidden gems. But unlike the passive guests on other tours, Amazing LA Race participants will have to interact with the sights, not just see them.
“It’s a very active experience,” says Larry Toffler, the tour’s other creator. “You can’t just sit and watch. You actually need to interact with your surroundings in order to get from one sight to another. And by surroundings, we don’t just mean places. We mean people too. There are lots of facets to this city of ours, and the Amazing LA Race offers the full range.”
While Bob and Larry designed the game for tourists, it is also great for locals who want to (or have to) enjoy a ‘staycation.’ “We’ve had LA natives play the game, people who have lived here their entire lives,” says Toffler, “and they’ve said, ‘I saw things today, that I have never seen before. Others have said, ‘it’s the most fun I’ve had in LA.’”
The game/tour ends with a finish-line awards ceremony, where prizes are given to top finishers, and all players receive complimentary beverages and snacks. Most participants use this time to bond with their fellow competitors, regale one another with "war stories," and declare that they could have won, if only...
