The funeral of Sister Rose Marie, an alcoholic religious disciplinarian, brings together twelve outrageously diverse flawed Harlem characters in this acclaimed play by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Sister Rose Marie may have been a mean drunk of an Irish nun schoolteacher, but she caused her former students to examine the many lessons they've learned from her as they struggle against the tide of their lives, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing, in doing the right thing. And there's one other complication: somebody has stolen the body. Learn More

The beggining was kind of slow but it picked up on the second act.Written on Oct 18 2010
One thing that bothered me and the people in our row was that one of the employees asked us to move against the wall to acomodate his friends in the center of the theatre, who were 15 minutes late. Of course we didn't move. We all thought it was ridiculous, inconsiderate and rude. That's why I didn't give this event 5 stars.
Also, there was a guy in the front row wearing a Fedora hat blocking the view of the people behind him. I think it is the resposability of the theatre to tell these people to remove their hat before the performance. Apparently this guy had no clue about theatre ethics.

This play was profoundly thought provoking and the acting was fantastic, especially that of Carolyn Hennesy, who clearly has amazing range beyond her part on General Hospital. That woman needs to go to New York and do some Broadway (and I think she is perfectly suited for London's West End).Written on Oct 18 2010
