The 3 very talented & different style Celtic groups, with a bagpipe & drum kilted band & student Irish dancers made for a very good evening under the stars.Written on Sep 20 2011

Melodic, energetic, thoughtfully chosen range of Celtic music, with fine musicianship. The Irish dancers were charming. The event began at 7:00PM, not 8:00, which is a plus on a Sunday night. On a warm night a picnic dinner before the performance on the shaded terraces of the Ford is so pleasant, too.Written on Sep 20 2011

The Ford Amphitheatre is great, though the fireworks going off across the street at the Hollywood Bowl in the middle of the concert were a bit irritating.Written on Sep 19 2011
And I think next time we'll bring our own food. We thought the concessions there were expensive for what we got: a pre-packaged roast beef sandwich, a prepackaged chopped salad, one beer and one water: $38.00+
The Concert itself was good, with a variety of "acts": The L.A. Police Pipe & Drums, one brief number with an Irish dance troupe of young adults & children, a pub band, "Ploughboys," that was very good, a contemporary "world music" group, "Skelpin'," that was really good and the headline act, "The Browne Sisters with George Cavanaugh," which we thought were just okay, at least for our tastes.

Every year this concert blows me away. The Celtic Arts Center puts together top acts for a wonderful evening's enjoyment under the stars at the beautiful Ford Theater. The Browne Sisters with George Cavanagh were outstanding, along with the pipers, dancers, and the Ploughboys.Written on Sep 19 2011

Description
Surround yourself with Celtic sounds – the haunting, the rousing and the humorous. Headlining this year’s Annual Celtic Concert at the Ford is The Browne Sisters and George Cavanaugh, who with their authentic harmonies and rich vocals, will transport the audience to the mountains, lakes and valleys of Scotland and Ireland. Also on the bill is Skelpin', adding passionate Spanish and Middle Eastern rhythms to lyrical Irish music; the popular local band, The Ploughboys, known for their rousing familiar Irish songs; Irish step dancers and, as always, the Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, in full regalia.
