<p>Willum Cubbert's friends have heard a lot about Rick Steadman. After all, he's the man who saved Willum's life when he was wounded in the war. Full of gratitude, Willum writes to Rick offering an open invitation, and professes that as long as he is alive "you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you." Unfortunately, Willum doesn't actually remember Rick Steadman. When he unexpectedly shows up at dinner, Willum finds himself caught between his sense of obligation and his socially inept, utterly awkward, mind-bogglingly rude guest. Finding his life turned upside down in his new Rick-centric world, Willum and his friends concoct ever more desperate schemes to convince him to leave. Will Willum crack under the pressure, or will this typical "nice guy" learn to stand up for himself and take what he really wants? </p>
