Brazilian favorite Ed Motta hits Hollywood on his latest U.S. tour with his famously eclectic style, combining elements of MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira), rock, soul, funk, bossa nova, jazz and reggae. DJ Potira spins urban and Brazilian beats to open and close this sure-to-be-steaming show, along with singer-songwriter and L.A. favorite Katia Moraes and MPB artist Daniel Carneiro. Motta was only 16 when his 1988 debut disc Conexão Japeri became a huge hit, and he's since released more than a dozen albums and film soundtracks, along with scoring an '06 Latin Grammy nomination. The Queen of Sheba live show is a pop concert cabaret starring Cheri London. It tells the story of a talented singer’s struggle with her abusive father and how with the help of her online virtual girlfriends, she is able to overcome his violent oppression to become a virtual pop sensation at Club Neverdie — the #1 virtual nightclub in the world.
Songs for the show are written, produced and performed by some of today’s brightest new stars, including Danny O’Donaghue, lead singer of “The Script,” whose debut album opened at #1 on the UK charts in August 2008; Kevin Rudolf, whose debut single “Let it Rock,” featuring lil Wayne, is currently flying to the top of the U.S. charts; and Cheri London, who co-wrote and performs all of the material and embodies the role of “The Queen of Sheba.”
