Gym Class Heroes were great. I was so excited when Estelle joined them on stage! The Roots were great as usual. That Tuba player was awesome. Both bands were really great!

The Roots were jiving as expected but the Gym Class Heroes were really a big surprise! LOVED LOVED LOVED them. The new Hollywood Palladium is majestic and restored to its former brilliance. Drinks are not pricey and staff is very friendly. The only draw back was the wait in line for Will Call--very disorganized.

First off, the Palladium looks great! The new sound system is a tremendous improvement. As for the show, Special Guests Estelle & Gym Class heroes were incredible opening acts for headliners the Roots.
I'm still astounded by how much money we saved using Goldstar.
Thanks so much for a fantastic evening.

Never been to this venue before and was surprise the service there was pretty cool. Concert was real chill and the bands were awesome! We actually took the Metro subway there (a block or so away) so we didn't pay for parking or needed a DD!-Big plus. Goldstar had the cheapest tickets available since we paid less for two people than for one person at the door!! thanks Goldstar!

Palladium has reopened and done a great job. the sound system was amazing. my ears left ringing. could be seen as a good or bad thing.
estelle opened and she is amazing. if you dont have the album go get it. the gym class heroes were amazing. fun, and hella entertaining. the roots were all right. they didnt play the hits, so you missed that. the vibe was not mellow at all if that is what you were expecting. which I wasnt. the tuba player was beyond amazing tho.

I loved it! Estelle was wonderful. Gym Class Heroes performance was too long.Their performance was longer than The Roots... a little strange. As usual The Roots delivered.

More Details
The Roots are an American hip-hop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are famed for a having a jazzy, eclectic approach to hip-hop which includes live instrumentation. Their debut album was released in 1993 and they have collaborated with a wide range of artists from different genres, including Roy Ayers and Cody Chesnutt. The Roots have garnered critical acclaim and influenced many rap and R&B acts.
Gym Class Heroes are an American band from Geneva, New York. The group formed when Travis "Schleprok" McCoy met drummer Matt McGinley and decided to make a band. After the addition of guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo and bassist Eric Roberts, they were signed to Decaydance Records, on which they released the gold-selling album As Cruel as School Children. Since that release, the band has garnered much success, with the single "Cupid's Chokehold" reaching #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Clothes Off!!" peaking at #5 on the UK Singles Chart. Rather than using the conventional tools of hip hop production, Gym Class Heroes use live instrumentation, similar to artists such as: Fluorescent Thiefs, Stetsasonic, The Roots, N.E.R.D., Flobots, and Crown City Rockers. They have collaborated with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump on numerous occasions, notably for providing backing vocals on the song "Cupid's Chokehold." Patrick also produced the majorty of their new album "The Quilt", which was released on September 9th, 2008
