An Evening With His Royal Hipness Lord Buckley
- Full Price:
- $20.00
- Our Price:
- $10.00
'50s comedian Lord Buckley's jazz-influenced delivery and surreal use of language made him a major influence on Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor, among others. Jake Broder re-enacts his routines, backed by a live jazz trio, in a performance the Los Angeles Times has called "the coolest show in town." This tribute is a joyous celebration of the routines of the late counter-culture comedian who was a cabaret legend beloved of Al Capone and Frank Sinatra and who continues to influence pop culture today. You can expect laughs, shock, outrageous contemporary satire and some great tunes. Learn More
Goldstar Member Reviews
A series of stand-up comics who performed their own songs. Some were hysterical, others were OK. Overall, it was an entertaining evening.Written on Oct 24 2008

All the comedians were absolutely great!!!!!Written on Oct 28 2008
Naturally everybody in our group had their own favorites. But what the hell do they know, since my favorite was the best. (but I wont say that person's name -so he/she will show up next time we go!!). Only 1 problem our group had as other people with tickets. We were under the impression we had paid for our tickets with Goldstar, but M Bar wanted to charge everyone an extra $10.00 per person -minimum going towards food or drink. They better talk to you guys before the next one!!

Description
Chris Valenti (Improv, Comedy Store)
If youve ever been frustrated by a relationship and you have a somewhat twisted, but healthy sense of humor, then Chris Valenti is the artist for you. Chris takes his romantic failures and frustrations personally and pours them out to you straight from his wry, twisted heart.
Phil Johnson (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Improv)
Phil Johnson isn't angry. Even when he's crooning horrible thoughts about an ex-girlfriend or calling out your co-workers for what they really are, it's done with warmth and a knowing glance that it's all in good fun. He's neither an insider, nor an outsider, but the guy standing in the doorway watching both groups and laughing at everyone's foibles, including his own.
Oded Gross (Seen on The Shield and Boston Legal))
Oded will take you on a comedy journey of left turns. Even when you think you know what's going on, he throws you a curve ball that takes things even further.
Michael Goldstrom (Improv, LA Philharmonic)
Described as the Jewish Robin Williams, Michael Goldstrom is a Juilliard trained actor, comedian and writer. But don't let all that schoolin' fool you.. Michael is a whirling dervish of energy, accents, and lots of laughs.
Plus a special surprise guest!
