In 2003, The Trials And Tribulations Of A Trailer Trash Housewife took Los Angeles theatre by storm. Opening at the Zephyr Theatre as part of A Season of Shores, Del Shores' masterpiece returns with the entire award-winning cast, including star Beth Grant (Donnie Darko, Sordid Lives, Little Miss Sunshine). The play explores the hidden emotions, shame, and secrecy battered women face, while also offering hope, healing, and truth. A delicate blend of frightened humor and pain, it delves right into the heart of abuse.

I've been a friend and comrade of Beth's for about 20 years and although I have ALWAYS admired her talent... I was speechless after the play. The acting was superb and devastating. Some audience members left during intermission, but I am convinced they couldn't take the truth that was being shown to them in the story!! And Del Shores is an spectacular writer... so powerful, but so touching...and seemingly, having spoken to him afterwards for a while, a wonderful human being. The closing night fried chicken and pie wasn't a bad deal either!!
Thanks for the night and the experience. Susan Damante
