Upright Cabaret's American Icon series, featuring stars from Broadway and American Idol singing the biggest pop hits of the past, continues with Heart and Soul, saluting the music of Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick and Whitney Houston. This high-energy theatrical concert event is headlined by stage stars Shoshana Bean and Sylvia MacCalla, along with Idol finalist Syesha Mercado. Bean gained fame on Broadway, starring in the original cast of Hairspray and as Elphaba in Wicked, and had a hit R&B single with "Superhero." Sylvia MacCalla also starred on Broadway in Rent and Hairspray and is a member of the R&B group Livin Out Loud. Since becoming a finalist on the seventh season of American Idol, Syesha Mercado landed the lead role of Deena in the national touring production of Dreamgirls.

The management and staff of this club are just horrible. The rating does not reflect on the fine vocalists who should take their talents to a friendlier venue.
