kids loved it,my advice get there early stand in line outside and wait.they have entertainment to keep the kids busy. When they allow you to enter,2 options 1) go directly upstairs to get a seat (we had general admission seats) VIP seats are directly in front of the screen,so the good general addmissions go fast, real fast if you arrive late or stop at the snack bar dont anticipate a seat in the middle or even close. What we did was arrive at5pm for a 7 pm show walked around hollywood for about 30 min. got in line and when we went in went down immediatly to the orchestra seats.we sat about 8 rows up middle side general addmission. Most of all tickets down in orchestra are VIP.There are a bunch but go fast!!!!.Get snacks and rtestroom visits after you are situated in your seats,It got very rough as people were aruging about seats, just get there early go directly in to orchestra and wait for a bit till the lines at concession stands get smaller. If you do get in orchestra as we did get ready for a great tim e as the organ player is soooo close playing all time disney favs, and the show is awsome that close and at the end the explosion of stars into the crowd will completelly cover you with a realistic feel as i believe you wouldnt get in balcony.
great show

Wall-E was great, we had great seats just off center in the balcony and we had a perfect view of the screen and the pre-show.

Attending the 10am show on Sunday was a great choice. My children, ages 8 and 5 11/12 loved the character show and the movie. Leaving the theater was a bit crazy as Hollywood Blvd. was pretty crowded by then, but getting there 1 hour before was adequate for parking and getting a decent position in line. I would recommend getting there 1hr 20 minutes early for better seats. The movie itself was very entertaining for all ages.

About El Capitan Theatre:

Step into Hollywood's glittering past at the legendary El Capitan Theatre, which made its debut on May 3, 1926, as "Hollywood's First Home of Spoken Drama." This grand theater has been restored to its original elegance, boasting a Spanish Colonial exterior and a colorful and lavish East Indian interior designed by San Francisco architect G. Albert Lansburgh.

The El Capitan Theatre has undergone a museum-grade renovation. This includes the stage, which has been restored to its original 1926 legitimate-theater dimensions, a newly installed high-speed lift center stage, lights, recently remodeled dressing rooms, and state-of-the-art special effects. The theater offers 1,000 seats and a Dolby SR-D audio system.
