To see, or not to see? There is no question. This steampunk take on William Shakespeare's most enduring tragedy sets the play in a sideshow world with an aim to inject some new vitality into the potentially stage-weary production. Revered for its intellectual and emotional power, Hamlet focuses on the conflict between the titular hero and his recently widowed mother's new husband, Claudius. In this particular production the characters are assumed by vaudevillian actors in a sideshow tent circa 1879, who have been fated to perform the play forevermore. And, of course, all the revenge, apparitions and grand soliloquizing one would hope for are still in place. Learn More

The story was quirky and silly, but very likeable and there were a couple of scenes that had us laughing hysterically. The actors were great. I've never been to NYC, but this is a play I imagine I could find off the beaten path there.
Written and directed by Gene Kato
Starring: Julio Alonzo, Amanda Baird, Jamie Betik, Taylor Biltoft, L. Jay Edenmeyer, Chris Eldredge, Jackie Pender-Lovell, Anthony Torres, Jason Tull, Clarity Welch and introducing Scout Edenmeyer.
About the Ticket Supplier: Cone Man Running Productions
n 2007, Christine Weems, Michael Weems and Eddie Rodriguez were not only very good friends, but board members of Phare Play Productions - a Manhattan theatre production company dedicated to developing new works and new talent in the tiny city of New York. Fast forward to 2011 where they all find themselves (for various reasons) in the fourth largest city in the country. Having taken their talents down south to Houston, these three have reunited and joined forces with the incomparable talents of L. Robert Westeen to form Cone Man Running Productions in order to continue to bring great entertainment - both theatre and film - to Houston.
Cone Man Running Productions seeks to challenge the playwrights, directors and actors while enticing audiences with not only traditional theatre productions, but with unique and innovative theatrical projects like the Spontaneous Smattering and the Pass and Go.
They sincerely hope you join them in their journey as they continue to try to keep ahead of the cone man and not look back!
