The boys of Baker Street have their most "Wilde" adventure yet in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, a new stage play from Katie Forgette (Assisted Living). History and fantasy mingle when Oscar Wilde brings his dear friend, the actress Lillie Langtry, to see detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson. Someone has stolen the highly intimate letters Lillie exchanged with the Prince of Wales, and now she is being blackmailed. Holmes takes the case, even doffing his deerstalker to disguise himself as a character from Wilde's upcoming play, The Importance of Being Forthright (working title). Meanwhile, Watson falls head-over-heels for Langtry as a wicked professor tries to disgrace the Crown. Doris Merten directs this Victorian romp at Theatre Suburbia. Learn More

We found most of the mini-plays rather offensive and had no idea that God would be portrayed as using profanity: however, we stayed for the full performance, hoping that things would improve. It is not likely that we will return to this venue again.
