FrenetiCore celebrates the late humor essayist David Rakoff with a production titled there is no answer as to why me, honoring his life and writing through a combination of contemporary dance, film, music, and Rakoff's own recorded voice. A frequent contributor to NPR's This American Life with stories like Christmas Freud and The Scorpion and Tortoise, his biting wit was also on display in a series of best-selling essay collections. This tribute by Houston-area choreographers Rebecca French, Ashley Horn and Aileen Mapes translates his work into movement with the help of 14 of the region's most talented dancers. Learn More

About the Ticket Supplier: Polynesian Paradise Dancers
In 1993, Akemi Welsh started Polynesian Paradise, a professional Polynesian entertainment company specializing in the traditional and modern dances of Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa. The Polynesian Paradise Dancers (PPD) prides itself on providing vibrant, high-energy and authentic Polynesian entertainment to audiences of all ages. Since its inception, PPD has grown by leaps and bounds, taking their show all over the world. In 2005 alone, the company reports having had a record-breaking 331 performances, which is more than any other Polynesian dance company in California. As one of the most sought after Polynesian shows, PPD has done it all, ranging from television cameos to movie premiers to print work. The Polynesian Paradise Dancers aspire to entertain and open the avenues of dance to everyone so that we can share our love for dance and Polynesian culture with others. Let us share some aloha spirit with you!
