Nobel Prize-winning author William Golding's provocative, dystopian novel Lord of the Flies shocked and challenged audiences in 1954 with its tale of boys whose attempts to govern themselves turned fearfully barbaric. Bayou City Theatrics now presents their own spin on the savage tale, in a production that features a talented all-female ensemble that lacks none of the ferociousness for which the work is famous. Combining beautiful imagery and an original score, Lord of the Flies finds a group of schoolchildren -- the only survivors of a plane crash on a remote island -- splitting into two factions in a fight for control of their new environment that rapidly descends into madness. An intriguing blend of gorgeous movement and gruesome acts of savagery, this play promises to be a satisfying bombardment of the senses. Learn More
