In the grand tradition of theatrical melodrama, Kris Thompson's new play Bad Medicine is an old-fashioned barn-burner replete with over-the-top romance, a mustache-twirling villain and a jangly live piano score. There's even popcorn on hand to hurl at the smooth-talking snake oil salesman bad guy Bodkin Shamley, who arrives on the scene to try and steal the lovely Nurse Becky Trueheart away from her childhood sweetheart Sheriff Gene Ranger. This is a delightful play written by a local playwright. The theater is intimate and inviting - not a bad seat in the house - and the volunteers were friendly and helpful. We took a group of 16 to see the play, and we plan to attend future...continued
