A darkly comic riff on Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death, Obie Award-winning playwright Lisa D'Amour's Red Death follows a kindergarten teacher on an existential cross-country quest. Tasked by a mysterious extra-legal organization called The Panel with finding the "origin of evil, the root of denial and the basic human weakness that causes us to fear death," schoolteacher/lifeguard Jane Whithers sets out on the heels of Prospero Albright, a childhood friend who she thinks holds the answer. Her comic rollercoaster ride through existential dilemmas and everyday fears takes her from Florida beaches to Texas sewers in search of the key to life's biggest questions. Learn More

The show was phenomenal. The acting was amazing; the songs were really fun; the stage was unique and added greatly to the quirkiness of the play; the theatre itself was small and quaint, which added to the atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this event.
