Mistaken Identities and Physical Comedy in French Bedroom Farce The Lady From Maxim's
After a night out with the guys, a French doctor wakes up to find a "lady of the evening" next to him in bed. Desperate to keep this woman a secret from his wife, the doctor goes to extreme lengths to hide her -- and produces quite a few laughs in the process. Add to that a confused uncle back from the army, a wedding that shouldn't be happening and a wife who thinks she's being visited by a saint and you've got quite the zany evening. The Lady From Maxim's was written by French playwright Georges Feydeau in 1899 and it's filled with physical comedy, slamming doors and mistaken identities. Watch as the cast attempts to unravel the confusion and see who winds up with a happy ending in this farcical comedy.
