The concert begins with a set by Danzig, the self-titled group whose biggest hits include "Mother" and "Twist of Cain." A set by Samhain, Danzig's mid-'80s goth-metal band, follows. The show closes with a series of songs by horror-punk pioneers The Misfits, Danzig's first band, performed by Danzig and Mistfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein. Learn More

FIRST OFF THEIR WEB SITE SAYS NO WATER BOTTLES, COOLERS ,B BQ'S AOR CAMERAS. WE GOT THER ETHERE WERE 100'S OF PEOPLE WITH COOLERS AND BBQ'S WHERE EVER THE EYE LOOKED. IT WAS APPROX 1 MILE FROM PARK LOT TO SEATS UP A BROKEN ROADWAY(uneven and unkempt).WE WERE 10 ROWS FROM THE BACK OF THE THEATER . WE WERE NOT ON THE END AS PROMISED,IT WS BITTERLY COLD AND WE LEFT ABOUT 30 MINUTES INTO THE PROGRAM. EVEN THE RESTROOMS WERE OVER 1/4 MILE AWAY. THE FOOD WAS EXPENSIVE,COLD AND THEY DID NOT HAVE LIDS FOR THE DRINKS OR EVEN STRAWS. BUT THEY CHARGED YOU $6.00 FOR A MED SPRITE ONLY SIZE AVAILABLE,$6.00 FOR A COLD CHEESEBURGER ON A DRY BUN WITH NO CONDIMENTS AVAIALBLE.$6.00 FOR OVER SALTED FRENCH FRIES.NOW WE HAD TO CARRY THESE UP A HILL APPROX 1/2 MILE TO GET TO OUR SEATS.Written on Jul 05 2010

This event started out with the orchestra with a couple of scores. The John Denver Tribute had some not so memorable songs mixed in with a couple of really good ones like Thank God I'm a Country Boy, and Country Roads. The Fireworks were not very impressive and if you were sitting in the stadium seating you had to twist you neck to see them. However really good experience for Fourth of July, and the tribute to all of the armed services was especially good.Written on Jul 05 2010

This is probably the 6th or 7th 4th of July concert we've attended at the Verizon Amphitheater. Each year is a spectacular event. John Denver's music as interpreted by Jim Curry took me back to remembering all the great JD songs. A reminder of the gift this talented man had of creating words and music to evoke deep feelings. The Eagle & Hawk was accompanied by a video, showing the majesty of the American Bald Eagle. Jim Curry embodies John Denver's style and dress, but eerily he is also married to an Ann(ie). And yes he sang Annie's Song to her. It was great!Written on Jul 05 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and are already looking forward to next year's event. Gold star makes it so affordable. I met a woman in the Will Call line who also had bought her tickets at Goldstar!

We had a lovely picnic on the lawn and enjoyed the music very much. Jim Curry really sounded like John Denver! Loved the patriotic theme and the fireworks were fabulous.Written on Jul 05 2010
