Pacific Symphony performed a few pieces.
Then the John Denver tribute - with a look alike, sound alike. Played mostly unrecognizable John Denver tunes. About 60/40 - unknown tunes and well-known.
Pacific Symphony then really excelled at the Souza marches during the fireworks.
Which brings me to the fireworks. Really weak. Intermittent display. Long pauses between each one.
Pricing for this event was way too high. Glad I bought tics on goldstar. But for a family event - tics should be cheaper priced.
Next year, I'll go back to the Hollywood Bowl for the 4th.
(The Pacific Symphony is a good orchestra. Perhaps if they had just performed, it would have been better. Or, get a better known artist...the bowl had Vince Gill!!)

We were impressed with Jim Curry and his likeness to John Denver! Music was great as was military tribute. Would go again. Fireworks were good too!

Fine for 4th of July. Music and entertainment were good. The conductor was the best entertainment. He really likes his job. The crowd was older and not too enthusiastic. Fireworks not too spectacular.

The Symphony offers a popular Pops season led by Principal Pops Conductor Richard Kaufman. The Pops series stars some of the world's leading entertainers, and is enhanced by state-of-the-art video and sound. The Symphony offers moving musical experiences with repertoire ranging from the great orchestral masterworks to music from today's most prominent composers, highlighted by the annual American Composers Festival.
