James Kaler was awesome. A natural comedian. I had no idea he did stand-up. I will definitely see him again when he comes back to Orange County. My friend and I laughed from beginning to end.
The Improv offers a full-service bar and serves dinner, appetizers and dessert nightly. There is a 2-drink minimum per person (which can be fulfilled with alcoholic beverages, soda, coffee or dessert).
Jamie Kaler is one of the country's rising stars in comedy. He has vaulted to national acclaim for his starring role as Mike in the hit TBS show, "My Boys" also starring national headliner, Jim Gaffigan. Jamie plays the romantically challenged bachelor who's getting way too old to never have been married. He's actually at the point where he has to lie and tell women he's been divorced, just so they think he has the ability to "commit". Where "Mike" ends and Jamie begins is a very blurry line. His act is an ode to bachelorhood that will make you thank your lucky stars that you met someone who was actually a viable substitute to loneliness. And if you're single, his act is a lesson in matchmaking that will have you hooking up with the person seated two rows away that you've been eyeballing all show.
In addition to My Boys, Jamie is also one of the stars of "Blue Collar:The Next Generation". DVD's are out now with a tour to follow later this year. A veteran actor, you're sure to recognize him from his appearances on Friends, Will and Grace, King of Queens, The 70's Show, The New Adventures of Old Christine and as the "Bloopers Host" on the Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken. So, if you enjoy laughing at horribly embarrassing stories about passing out with a pint of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream, locking your keys in the car with the engine running, or being rolled up in a carpet and left on the interstate, then you will love this show.
