Gravity is no match for Diavolo Dance Theater's daredevils of dance as they leap, fly and spin with power, elegance and a thrill of danger in their acclaimed work Transit Space. Influenced by the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, this kinetic, high-flying work explores themes of loss and community while using skate ramps and half-pipes as set pieces to represent an urban environment. The special Liszt Birthday Celebration, presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, begins with the second installment of the_ What Makes Music Beautiful? _lecture series with guest lecturer, Dr. Alan Walker. A musicologist and celebrated biographer of Franz Liszt, Dr. Walker will be discussing the piano music of Franz Liszt. Lecture includes wine tasting.
