Gravity is no match for Diavolo Dance Theater's daredevils of dance as they leap, fly and spin with power, elegance and a thrill of danger in their acclaimed work Transit Space. Influenced by the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, this kinetic, high-flying work explores themes of loss and community while using skate ramps and half-pipes as set pieces to represent an urban environment. Led by Artistic Director Jacques Heim, Diavolo's an internationally renowned modern dance company of dancers, gymnasts, acrobats and athletes. Learn More

Since Queen Dido of Carthage first appeared in Virgil’s epic poem, Aeneid, more than 2000 years ago, she has been a touchstone for artists to express society’s changing attitudes towards women, love and politics. Dido has been immortalized in poetry, paintings, drama, and two operas by the great artists of each age.
