Two award-winning and acclaimed Hawaiian musicians, Nathan Aweau and Jeff Peterson, join forces to create Mamo, a thrilling duo that takes traditional hula standards (along with some of the pair's original works) and gives them a little jazz twist. The result is a fresh look at some of Hawaii's most popular hula songs. Peterson is a renowned slack key guitarist who's proficient in a variety of styles from jazz and classical to slack key and beyond. Bassist and vocalist Aweau has been hailed by The New York Times for his "advanced understanding of harmony and orchestration" and "effortless" singing. Greasy Hairspray features Nikki Blonsky, star of the 2007 film revival of Hairspray playing Tracy Turnblad, for which she won a Critic's Choice Award for Best Young Actress and Best Ensemble. Blonsky also starred in the Lifetime original movie Queen Sized and has appeared in several TV series, including Ugly Betty. Her first solo appearance was with renowned Dallas-based men's chorus The Turtle Creek Chorale. Nikki appears as Dolores in the 2011 film Waiting For Forever.
