So what, exactly, is this? Well, it’s definitely not your grandmother’s opera!
Pop-Opera, or “popera” if you will, is our own fusion of the musical terms and styles of “pop” and opera as only Men Alive can bring!
Imagine Lady GaGa’s “Edge of Glory” performed as a soaring pop and opera mix, or the tender beauty of Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” done as a power ballad! How about a totally re-imagined “Anvil Chorus” as you’ve never heard before? And in this concert, you’ll hear a bit of Verdi and Gilbert & Sullivan right next to a bit of Annie Lennox and Madonna! They’ve even dared to stage a live-action version of an “operatic” animated classic you’ll instantly recognize! That’s right … they went there!
Get ready for magnificent costumes, fabulous dance numbers, incredible songs and the “Popperettas” to guide you through the whole amazing experience.
