New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving: Premieres and Dvorak
Dvorák, Debussy & More: the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving
The clarinet takes center stage as the Dallas Symphony's Paul Garner sits in for this New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving afternoon concert. The program opens with Garner bringing to life the haunting tones of Claude Debussy's Première Rhapsody
. The clarinetist will also feature on the premiere of Entrada a la Madera
, the latest work from composer Ryan Cockerham. Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 8 closes the program. With its beautiful strings, warm brass and wind flavors, the piece draws from Bohemian folk music for a more cheerful sound than much of the Czech master's work.
