Decadent Musical The Wild Party set in the 1920s
Based on a once-banned narrative poem by Joseph Moncure March, Andrew Lippa's award-winning off-Broadway musical recounts a lavish celebration in roaring 1920s Manhattan thrown by Queenie, a beautiful but jaded vaudeville star and her lover, Burrs, who set out to make each other jealous with a variety of decadent guests. With music, drugs and alcohol flowing, the revelers' artifice falls away and desperate desires erupt. The musical's original 2000 production won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music.
