Description

The Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego will wrap up its successful 15th Anniversary Season of Singing Out with its annual holiday concert “Bells & Brass,” which features the 75-member chorus accompanied by brass ensemble and handbell choir.

The Gay Men’s Chorus is sure to make the audience smile as it performs such seasonal selections as “Christmas Is Delicious” and “Variations on ‘Jingle Bells.’” There will be festive favorites like “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” and “Sleigh Ride.” GMCSD’s rendition of “Oseh Shalom,” the traditional Hebrew prayer for peace, will be a timely reminder of the real reason for this special season. And no GMCSD concert would be complete without lots of laughs, so when “A Night Before Christmas, Revisited” is performed by GMCSD’s special guests, the students at Miss Twinkleton’s School for Sensitive Boys, you might not believe what happens next!

Audience members are encouraged to arrive early for the Fourth Annual Holiday Wreath Silent Auction, which will include wreaths handmade by Gay Men’s Chorus members and/or donated by local businesses. Other available items will include luxury hotel stays, theatre tickets, spa packages and more.

About the Ticket Supplier: San Diego Gay Men's Chorus

The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus, one of the ten largest GALA choruses in the United States, features more than 130 talented and dedicated singers devoted to the Chorus mission statement, "To create a positive musical experience through exciting performances which engage our audiences, build community support and provide a dynamic force for social change."

After performing together in December 2009 for the first time in 17 years, the San Diego Men's Chorus (SDMC) and the Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego (GMCSD), with their uniquely distinctive and proud histories, officially merged to create the new San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC). The newly merged Chorus looks forward to continuing the tradition of extraordinary musicianship and dedication to community outreach of their predecessors. In the process, SDGMC hopes to inspire thousands of people, win new fans, and write its own unique chapter in the histories of San Diego, of LGBT equality, and of choral music.
