Enjoy an evening of Latin American music full of swagger and drama. Maria Guinand, the noted Venezuelan choral conductor, will be conducting Osvaldo Golijov's Oceana, inspired by the poetry of Pablo Neruda, and Heitor Villa-Lobos' Chôros No. 10, based on Brazilian street musicians. The concert will also feature the West Coast premiere of Intrada 1631, based on 17th-century Peruvian chants, and Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera's Malambo. Parking Instructions: Though parking is free on weekends, a $3 parking pass is required for Friday night events. Passes can be purchased at the kiosk located at the North side of lot P207.
From the North: Take Interstate 5 to Genesee Avenue west. After 0.7 miles (3rd light) turn left on North Torrey Pines Road. After 0.9 miles (4th light) turn left on Muir College Drive and proceed to the second lot on the right (lot 207). Mandeville is to the south beyond the Sun God sculpture.
From the South: Take Interstate 5 to La Jolla Village Drive west. After 1.7 miles (7th light) turn right on Muir College Drive and proceed to the second lot on the right (lot 207). Mandeville is to the south beyond the Sun God sculpture. (Note: After the curve, La Jolla Village Drive becomes North Torrey Pines Road.)
Disabled Parking: Disabled Parking is in marked areas in Lot 206, next to the faculty club. Additional Disabled Parking available on Mandeville Lane (limited spaces available).
From the North and South: Take the Interstate-5 to La Jolla Village Dr. west exit and get in right lane. After Villa La Jolla Drive, merge right onto the Gilman Drive ramp. Turn right on Gilman Drive. Proceed on Gilman, and turn left at the third stop sign (Mandeville Lane). Disabled parking will be on the right. Patrons may also continue on Mandeville Lane to the loop in front of the auditorium to be dropped off.
