Thank you Goldstar AND La Mirada Theater for making this possible. I got tickets at the last minute to take a friend for her birthday. Our seats were great and the show spectacular! It's hard to find musician's that are actors as well, so my hat off to the casting director. The talent, costuming and set design made for the end of a great day of celebration.
Oh Goldstar reviewers, have you no standards? I was so excited when I saw all the 4.0 ratings, but this play is a HUGE flop. Beginning with an uninspired book ("I just want to play my music my way!"), one-dimensional characters, and tepid romps through the Buddy Holly catalog, this is not a musical - its just a Tribute Band catering to the nostalgia of the over 60 crowd.
My husband and I were beyond words at how outstanding this performance was from beginning to end! This is a MUST see and we want to go back again. Buddy Holly is rockin in La Mirada!!!
