The haves and the have-nots come face-to-face in the Broadway hit Good People. Written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole), this Tony-nominated dramatic comedy finds struggling single mother Margie Walsh laid off from her job at the dollar store and left with the reality that her South Boston neighborhood is providing the same level of opportunity it always has: none. It's the kind of place where, for many people, this month's paycheck covers last month's bills. Facing eviction, Maggie's forced to turn to an old high school flame for help. But he's now a successful physician living in the suburbs ... and Margie is way out of her element. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakable hope that come with having next to nothing in America. Learn More

I am a member of GOLDSTAR's "Red Velvet" circle, and go to see lots of theatre. Daddy Long Legs is one of the BEST shows I have seen all year! I originally wasn't going to see it thinking it was like the old Fred Astaire movie. Only the basic plot is the same. After seeing the high Goldstar rating and reading the glowing reviews of others who went, I decided to get tickets. I saw it last night with friends and we ALL agreed it was one of the best shows/musicals we have seen in a long time. The show is intimate and charming. The 2 actors, Megan McGinnis as Jerusha and Robert Hancock as Jervis are outstanding. BOTH have beautiful and wonderfully trained voices, their acting and "chemistry" together on stage is just right. The music, songs and simple staging all work together to weave a magical moment of theatre. KUDOS to McCoy Rigby for bring it to O.C. and to the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura where it started out last year. DON'T miss this show- you will not be disappointed! It ends this Sunday.

A brand new musical event from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director of Les Misérables and the creator of Jane Eyre, Daddy Long Legs_, with music and lyrics by Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre_), book and direction by Tony and Olivier award-winner John Caird (Les Miserables), original musical direction by Laura Bergquist, musical direction by Julie McBride and featuring Megan McGinnis and Robert Adelman Hancock.
Don’t miss this new musical event by Tony and Olivier Award-winner John Caird (Nicholas Nickelby, Les Miserables_) and the Tony-nominee Paul Gordon (_Jane Eyre), that began its life at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura and has been revised and reworked at such great regional theatres as the Northlight in Chicago and TheatreWorks in Palo Alto prior to its La Mirada debut! Set in turn-of-thecentury New England, this is the exquisitely moving story of Jerusha Abbot, a talented orphan sent to a prestigious college by an anonymous benefactor she nicknames Daddy Long Legs. Revealed through witty, wistful letters, her journey to self-sufficiency, education, and romance chronicles the emergence of a delightfully independent American woman. Presented by La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment in association with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Rubicon Theatre Company, TheatreWorks, David Elzer and Michael Jackowitz.
