American Idol star and Tony Award-nominee Constantine Maroulis joins with Grammy-nominee and R&B superstar Deborah Cox for La Mirada's production of the musical theater phenomenon Jekyll & Hyde. An evocative tale of the epic battle between good and evil that was a smash hit on Broadway for four years, Jekyll & Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality result in the creation of a murderous counterpart. This is pure pulse-pounding theater, with the always-delicious combination of macabre fun and fright. Maroulis and Cox add to the chills with their renditions of the show's memorable score, which includes "This Is the Moment," "A New Life," and "Someone Like You."

Loved it!! The singing was great. The story was captivating in how they presented it, even though we all know the ending.

Normally when my wife and I buy tickets trough Goldstar our seats turn out great. This was not the case in this show. We were seated in the very back row of the orchestra level right next to the sound guy. The lights from his equipment were distracting and the several times that crew members came from behind him and walked past us during the show to sit down was annoying.
The show it self was mediocre at best. My biggest complaint, like many on here, is the sound. It was too loud on many parts and made it very hard to understand many parts.

It was fine and the audience loved it, but the one we saw at The MET Theatre a few weeks before was WAY more powerful and in a much more intimate space. La Mirada PAC is a beautiful place to see shows, esp. with the plentiful free parking and gorgeous lobby. But, we had just been blown away by the one at The MET.

The performances were Broadway-worthy and very captivating. The only criticism was that the Hyde murder scenes were too graphic and since there were so many increasingly troublesome. My friend and I had to look away. Because of that I would definitely not recommend this for children which is too bad as the rest of it was so well done.
