L.A.'s Troubadour Theater Company, better known as the Troubies, are famous for their fast-paced acrobatic, comic and musical mash-ups of classical plays with songs from top pop artists, as in their recent hilarious hits Romeo Hall and Juliet Oates and Fleetwood Macbeth. Their latest raucous production sets the songs of ABBA to Aeschylus' ancient Greek tale of a king who returns home from the Trojan War to a domestic drama of adultery and murder. The music of ABBA's no stranger to theatrical adaptation, of course, with so many great tunes to choose from, including "Dancing Queen," "SOS," "Waterloo," "Take a Chance on Me," "Winner Takes it All" and so many others, but the award-winning and wildly creative Troubies are no doubt up to the task. DSB was amazing. I've seen them before and would highly recommend them. Wanted on the other hand was not very good at all. We noticed the patio filled up when they were on. The best part of the whole night was a "chick fight" during "Faithfully". It made me feel like I was back in high school again.
