L.A.'s Troubadour Theater Company, better known as the Troubies, are famous for their fast-paced acrobatic, comic and musical mash-ups of classical plays with songs from top pop artists, as in their recent hilarious hits Romeo Hall and Juliet Oates and Fleetwood Macbeth. Their latest raucous production sets the songs of ABBA to Aeschylus' ancient Greek tale of a king who returns home from the Trojan War to a domestic drama of adultery and murder. The music of ABBA's no stranger to theatrical adaptation, of course, with so many great tunes to choose from, including "Dancing Queen," "SOS," "Waterloo," "Take a Chance on Me," "Winner Takes it All" and so many others, but the award-winning and wildly creative Troubies are no doubt up to the task. We loved every moment of Plaid Tidins. I can't wait to see it again next year. Lots of fun & brought back fond memories if you were a child in the late 50's early 60's. La Mirada theatre is very nice & we all left feeling Happy & like we had had a Christmas
The eternal teenagers of Forever Plaid, Sparky, Smudge, Jinx, and Frankie are back for the holidays in their very own high-spirited holiday hit!
The Plaid boys continue their supernatural saga returning from the afterlife again to play their very own Christmas TV Special, featuring a hilarious two-minute history of the Ed Sullivan Show, back-up vocals for a video-projected Perry Como, and a host of great holiday songs sure to get everyone feeling a lot like Christmas.
