La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents a satellite screening of Nicholas Wright's acclaimed new play Travelling Light at London's famed National Theatre. Set at the turn of the century, this play is the story of Motl Mendl, who's entranced by the flickering silent images on his father's cinematograph, makes a small Jewish community in remote Eastern European his camera's focus. Bankrolled by Jacob, the ebullient local timber merchant, and inspired by Anna, the girl sent to help him make moving pictures of their village, he stumbles on a revolutionary way of story-telling. Forty years on, Motl - now a famed American film director - looks back on his early life and confronts the cost of fulfilling his dreams.

The La Mirada Theater is hosting these broadcasts from London theaters and Broadway. Great place to see the shows, great price, wonderful opportunity. This show was very thoughtful and right in line with the current movie trend to examine the early days of film.
