Hailed by The Washington Post as "more than dance," Ballet Memphis has evolved into a groundbreaking, nationally sought-after company by merging classical ballet with contemporary cool. This performance at Laguna Dance Festival's 10th anniversary features Julia Adam's Devil's Fruit, a psychedelic, sexy ballet showcasing the company's raw strength and easy elegance. Highlighting virtuosic dancers and works from some of the industry's top choreographers, the Laguna Dance Festival brings the distant world of stage dance to the uniquely intimate stage venues of Laguna Beach. The evening includes a pre-show talk with the director. Learn More

A play with a huge heart, not afraid to show emotion, sentiment, after all the essence of life. Fine actors, excellent stage direction, not too loud, not too soft. A happy medium. A show that I highly recommend that is balm to one's soul.
It’s a birthday party nobody will forget! In this engaging comedy, Abuela, the matriarch of a Cuban-exile family living in Miami in 1974, is turning 75. Much-married Maritza and her teenage daughter, Marty, have driven in from Texas. Live-at-home single son, Tio, hopes everything will go smoothly. However, as the punch flows, the sky turns stormy and Eric, the handsome gardener, arrives, the party unravels. Meanwhile, Alexandros, Abuela’s bad-tempered pooch, becomes the catalyst for an emotional meltdown in which closet doors open, truths tumble out and the bonds of family love are reasserted. Alexandros is by the author Sonia Flew_, which was staged at The Laguna Playhouse during the 2006-2007 season. _
