Let me make this clear. I loved the event that my wife and I have been too (Shirley Valentine). But everything else about this ticket package isn't so good. The seats assigned are the worst in the house even when there are much better seats that haven't been sold. The Laguna Playhouse treats the Goldstar members like trash and I will think long and hard before I ever buy another of thier overprice tickets again.

The show was enjoyable. Laguna Playhouse is an intimate theatre which regularly provides quality entertainment. The tickets were waiting for me at will call. Very convenient.

First show was "Shirley Valentine" (DeeDee Rescher). Highly energetic performance by a highly skilled performer. Kept our interest, her accent was easy to understand, and it was a very funny and entertaining play. Would recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to "This Wonderful Life" and "Lonesome Traveler."

1989 Tony Award Winner for Best Play

“DeeDee Rescher Delivers a Bravura performance with her wholesome stage presence” – OC Register

Shirley Valentine is a middle-aged housewife from Liverpool whose life and marriage is trapped inside humdrum domesticity. She is in a rut. What has happened to her life? When her best friend Jane pays for a holiday for two to Greece she packs her bags, heads for the sun and starts to see the world and herself rather differently, and discovers a new lease on life. This Tony-Award-winning play is a hilarious, poignant and touching journey toward independence and self-discovery.

A Journey Down the Rivers and Streams of American Folk

“A warm, embracing, communal experience.” – Los Angeles Times

“Tom Dooley,” “Goodnight Irene,” “Puff, the Magic Dragon” “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “This Land is Your Land.” These songs remind us of a time when music brought us all together; when it changed us. Lonesome Traveler takes us from the backwoods of Appalachia to the nightclubs of New York and San Francisco; from the mid 1920s to the mid 1960s. Experience the music that made history and the history that made music. This is a journey down the rivers and streams of American Folk music, while presenting a revealing perspective of the roots forever embedded in our culture.
