- “A nifty comedy about double adultery and gourmet cooking….” --London Sunday Times
Description
Jacqueline decides to visit her mother for a few days, and her husband Bernard sees an opportunity for a cozy weekend with his new mistress. His bachelor pal Robert calls to announce his return from Hong Kong, so Bernard invites him along as his alibi, also hiring a Cordon Bleu-level cook to cater a delicious dinner. What could go wrong?
What if Robert turns up without knowing why he’s been invited? And suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers? Or how about the cook being mistake for the mistress, and the mistress who can’t cook? Mix all of these ingredients, and one impossible situation leads to another in this breakneck farce.
Don't Dress for Dinner, by Marc Camoletti, adapted by Robin Hawdon, is the next Main Stage Production presented by Las Vegas Little Theatre. This boulevard comedy was a smash hit in Paris, where it played for over two years, and in London, where critical acclaim greeted the Apollo Theatre production.
John Ivanoff, a favorite of local theatre-goers, appears as “Bernard”, with another well-known actor, Barbara King, as “Jacqueline.” Tony Blosser plays “Robert”; Sarah Spraker is “Suzanne”; the role of “Suzette” is being portrayed by Gillen Brey; and John C. Hughes is “George”. This frenetic production is being directed by Jay Joseph.
