Enjoy the distinctive harmonies of the legendary music group, Earth, Wind & Fire, as they take the stage on New Year's Eve at the world's largest five-diamond resort, The Venetian. Known for their spectacular stage presence and energetic performances, Earth, Wind & Fire will entertain a crowd of more than 5,000 with hits from their remarkable chart-topping 30+ year career including "Shining Star," "Boogie Wonderland," "September" and "Let's Groove." The evening's celebration kicks off at 10 p.m. in The Venetian Ballroom and presented in partnership with Piper Heidseick champagne.
"We are thrilled to have Earth, Wind, & Fire headlining The Venetian's 2008 New Year's Eve celebration," said Venetian spokesperson, Ron Reese.
"The energy on the Strip in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve is remarkable," said Earth, Wind & Fire's Philip Bailey, co-founder and lead vocalist, "Earth, Wind & Fire is going to rock The Venetian!"
Since 1969 Earth, Wind & Fire has revolutionized pop culture by blending sounds of soul, funk, gospel, blues, rock, and jazz. Originally earning critical acclaim in 1970 with their self-titled album, "Earth, Wind & Fire," it wasn't until 1973 that the group found commercial success with their album "Head to the Sky." Over the next 25 years, the group produced more than 50 gold and platinum albums including, "That's the Way of the World," "Gratitude" and "Raise," and has received eight Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards. Earth, Wind & Fire was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
