It was a great opportunity to experience local amature theater. The play was a bit odd, but the acting was delightful and I will definitely be checking it out again. This was my first experience with this type of theater, outside of the Black Box at UNLV. I recommend giving it a shot.

I liked the acting except for one player, but I didn't care fpor the play that much: too dark, no redeeming characters

Las Vegas Little Theatre, southern Nevada’s longest running community theatre, is proud to announce the first show of its 2008 – 2009 Fischer Black Box Artists’ Series with Neil LaBute’s The Distance from Here. The Distance from Here is an intense look at the dark side of American suburbia. With little to occupy their time or attention other than finding a decent place to hang out, Darrell and Tim are two American teenagers who lack direction and purpose in their lives. When Darrell's suspicion about the infidelity of his girlfriend is confirmed, he takes action, speeding his friends and family toward disaster. This play contains adult language and themes.

Las Vegas Little Theatre, an amateur theatre company founded in 1978 by Jack Bell and Jack Nickolson, is Southern Nevada's oldest community theatre. It launched performances in a converted storefront with an initial seating capacity of 48. Their mission has always been to increase the awareness of theatre arts in Southern Nevada, provide quality productions, and to offer educational, hands-on opportunities in all facets of theatre production.
