LV only has one regularly scheduled Professional Theater in the city of 2M. Why would it schedule this offensive cliche filled bad Neil Simon for its biggest venue. Last month they had a fossil of the Mad Men era called Boeing Boeing and now this contrived one room farce that should be called the The Allergist's Mother-In-Law's Bowel Jokes. Without those very stereotypical (but that's ok) remarks peppering the dialog you would notice how dull and pointless the piece is.
Sometimes when a work is unconvincing and appears just a collection of statements you can look back from the end and ask "so where did this take us?" I did that exactly at the end of this and either one concludes its is a celebration of insipid family life or that the Allergist and his wife are doomed to quiet desperation. The audience certainly is.
A sad waste of a precious resource. After several attempts I would avoid comedy, especially sitcom modern style, at LVLT. They are capable of better.
